Chianti
Friday, December 8th, 2006Chianti of Richmond is located in the Gayton Crossing Shopping Center in Richmond’s far west-end.
I’m not sure how Chianti became a favorite, but it’s that type of place you go to often enough that everyone might know you, and consulting the menu isn’t required. It’s the first place you go to after a long vacation out of town, or when an important dinner discussion is required.
Things here aren’t fancy. It’s a pizza joint, where I never order pizza. My favorites are the veal francese and the shrimp francese. Sure, we may stray from the usual: pasta, calzone, lasagna, etc. Chianti offers good salads, bread with the meal, and friendly service.
The waitresses tell me they have excellent desserts. I’m often too full to try one. Chianti is one step-up from a “family” Italian restaurant, where I believe you can enjoy something tasty and traditional.
